We Are Here

December 6, 2025 - January 31, 2026
We Are Here gathers works born from and addressed to this turbulent political moment. In an era of rising authoritarianism, state-sanctioned violence, erasure, and attacks on bodily autonomy, the exhibition insists on Black presence, memory, and futurity. These artworks as interventions track how the nation marks and constricts Black life—and how we resist. Refusing disappearance or neutrality, “We Are Here” is both declaration and demand: a reminder that we are watching, remembering, and imagining otherwise—even, and especially, now.

To be joyful can be a revolutionary act. #WhereJOYLives, an experimental project by artist-in-residence Elizabeth Burden, is an exploration of the wellsprings of Black joy, a force that resists and transcends. Through a deeply personal yet collective lens, this social practice art installation-in-progress celebrates joy as an enduring reservoir of resilience, creativity, and affirmation.

FEBRUARY 1- MARCH 7

In a world increasingly marked by division, injustice, inequities, and pain, the question arises: how do we embrace the (BE)LOVED? This exhibition serves as both an exploration and a meditation on this profound question, centering in the lived experiences of artists of African heritage. Through their creative expressions, the five artists in this exhibition — Alanna Airitam, Granville Carroll, Lizz Denneau, Amber Doe, and bianca goyette — consider Black love and connection.
